About the Author

 Mr Chetan R. Kathalay holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering. He is a distinguished Scientist and Director (Retd), ETDC, Govt. of India, STQC Directorate, Pune.

He has over twenty-seven years of experience in EMI/EMC testing, EMC design, safety testing and CE marking of products. He has been trained in Technishe Academie, Esslingen (TAE), Germany, for advanced EMC design, safety testing and CE Marking. 

His experience includes:

• Setting up of a state-of-the-art EMC test laboratory in Pune and managing EMC test operations. 
• Providing EMC design guidelines to manufacturers helping them to design compliant products to comply with national and international EMC standards.
• Guidance for CE marking to manufacturers of a plethora of products in virtually all applications like industrial, commercial, household, medical etc. He is well versed in EMC, LVD, RoHS and Machinery directives. 
• Guidance towards preparation of Technical Documentation and Risk assessment (which is a critical requirement) for CE Marking.

He has a number of national and international publications to his credit. 

His articles related to EMI/EMC have appeared in Electronics For You magazine

He has  authored following books:
